CROQUET CLUB MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of the Greytown Ladies’ Croquet Club held their monthly meeting yesterday afternoon in the Park pavilion. Mrs H. G. Carter presided over a good attendance of members. Keen interest is being shown in the B handicap singles competition for Mrs F. J. Nichols’s trophy. A and B doubles competitions are being drawn up this week. An account was passed for payment, and another member was enrolled. The lawns are showing signs of the dry spell, and a good downpour would be welcome. The Greytown Croquet Club has decided to hold a half-hour tournament on one day about the middle of the month, when it is expected that representatives will be present from all the Wairarapa Clubs. —r ' BOWLING GRADY MEDALS GAME. Messrs Carr and Brown, of the Park Club, played a challenge match for the Grady Medals last evening. The first part of the game was very even, and a fine exhibition of bowling was given by both sides. The game eventually went in favour of the holders, Messrs McLeod and Higgison. The Silver Ferns changed hands last evening, when J. Coleman and H. Wallace defeated E. Skeet and G. Burns, 21/11. The new holders will have a busy week staving off the challenges already lodged. Personal. Miss Hill is the guest of Mrs S. Munn, of Waingawa, for a few days. TOWN HALL TWO BIG FEATURES. There will be two big features at the Town Hall tomorrow night. “Dr Broadway” is a thrilling drama introducing a new star, MacDonald Cary, together with Jean Phillips and Carroll Naish. “Top Sergeant” is an action-packed drama in which the chief roles are enacted by Leo Carrillo, Andy Devine and Elyse Knox.
