SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT TO HOSPITAL BOARDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna Borough Council it was resolved to support the Waikato Hospital Board in its representation to the Government fora substantial increase in the payment to hospital boards from the Social Security Fund to enable boards to give some measure of relief to local bodies. DENTAL CLINIC COST TO BE BORNE BY STATE. The Government, out of consideration to the special circumstances of, the case, had decided to meet the whole cost of erecting a new dental clinic in Eketahuna, at the school, said Mr J. Robertson, member for Masterton, this morning. Mr Robertson said this decision had been taken in view of the War Memorial building, in which the clinic was located before the earthquake, having been erected entirely by public subscription. That building was wrecked by the earthquake of last year and the Government was now prepared to meet the whole cost of a new dental clinic building. Clean Bill of Health. A clean bill of health was reported by The Health Inspector to the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna Borough Council. Food shops and eating houses were, he stated, being restored as speedily as possible after the earthquake. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs W. H. Wakelin and Mr J. W. Wakelin (Kilbirnie) have been the guests of Mr and Mrs J. L. Wakelin. Anderson Street. Mr and Mrs Keith Oman, Wellington, have returned home after having been the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Reid, Anderson Street. Constable and Mrs Eade, Bulls, who were former residents of Eketahuna, are the . guests of Mr and Mrs J. Jewett. Mrs Scharnweber, Masterton, has been on a visit to Nireaha. Mrs H. Hansen, Nireaha, is an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital. Her many friends will be pleased to hear that her health is Improving.
