BABY’S DEATH
DUE TO BRONCHO-PNEUMONIA. INQUEST IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT. A verdict in accordance with the medical evidence, that death had occurred through broncho-pneumonia and that no blame was attachable to anyone, as everything possible had been done for the baby was returned by the District Coroner, Mr L. J. Taylor, when an inquest into the death of Kathleen Barbara Marshall, aged 44 months, daughter’ of Mr and Mrs J. JMarshall, of Glendonald Station, was ( held in Masterton last night. In their evidence the parents said that the baby had died while being conveyed to Masterton, where she was being taken for medical treatment. The baby had been ill for three days but as everyone on the station had had colds it was thought that the baby also had a cold . The baby had not been treated by a medical practitioner. Dr. John Rich-stated in his evidence that the baby was dead when it was brought into his surgery. In his opinion death was due to broncho-pneu-monia.
