BOWLING TOURNEY PROGRESSIVE PAIRS WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The local Bowling Club held a very successful progressive pairs tournament during the weekend. H. Rolls won the skips’ section and J. Moriarity the leads. The greens were in excellent order and several good games were witnessed. Personal Items. The friends of Mr Colin Buck, who is a patient in the Kelvin Hospital, will be’ pleased to learp that he is making good progress towards recovery. Mrs H. Hunt, Levin, is the guest of Mrs J. Moriarity, Birdwood Street. Miss P. Edwards, of the nursing staff of the Wellington Hospital, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs C. Edwards, Hayward Street. COSY THEATRE “49th PARALLEL.” The sensational picture, “49th Parallel,’ ’is scheduled to be shown at the Cosy Theatre tomorrow night, commencing at 8 o’clock. It tells the story of a Nazi submarine crew and the trail of destruction they leave behind them. Leslie Howard, Raymond Massey and Laurence Olivier have the chief roles in what is considered to be the greatest adventure story ever brought to the screen.
