FEATHERSTON

PATRIOTIC DANCE A LARGE ATTENDANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the popular patriotic dance held on Saturday in the Town Hall. The music was supplied by Mrs V. J. Ashton’s Orchestra. Mr Ashton made a very capable M.C. Extras were played by Corporal W. Lewis. A novelty dance was won by Miss F .Saba and partner, and a. competition by Mr D. Parker (Carterton). Supper was served by the Junior Patriotic Committee in a gaily decorated supper-room. Personal Items. Misses Mildred Rowles and June Card are visiting Levin where they are the guests of Mrs H. McKay. Mr and Mrs R. McKenzie and family, of Ballance, are the guests of Mr J. W. Card, Johnston Street. Mrs A. Robbins and family, Pigeon Bush, are visiting Waikanae Beach. Mr and Mrs- J. Zimmie, Evan’s Bay, have returned home after having spent the holidays at their country residonee. Mrs Wadham has returned to Wanganui after having been the guest of Mrs M. Fairbrother. COSY THEATRE “49th PARALLEL.”

The brilliant drama, “49th Parallel,” featuring Leslie Howard, Laurence Olivier, Raymond Massey and Anton Walbrook, will head the programme at the Cosy Theatre on Wednesday night. It is one of the most spectacular pictures ever brought to the screen.
