FEATHERSTON
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs W. Marshall recently entertained fifty young people to a picture party in honour of the coming of age of her daughter, Joan. Later in the evening supper was served after which dancing was enjoyed. Mrs G. Chaston and her daughter, June, are visiting relatives in Christchurch.
Miss Una Sadler, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs F.’ Bladen, South Featherston.
Mr and Mrs F. Clarke, “Te Kowhai,” are spending a few days in Wellington. Mrs J. Holmes, Birdwood Street, has left on a visit to Palmerston North.
Mr L. O’Connor, Auckland, is paying a brief visit to Featherston.
Euchre Tourney.
There was a fair attendance at the weekly euchre tournament held in the Services’ Club last night. The winners were: Mrs M. Baker, 1; Miss K. Ruane, 2 The consolation prizes were won by Mrs R. Watson and Mr R. Holland. A competition was won by A. Lowell.
COSY THEATRE “YOU’LL NEVER GET RICH.”
The programme at the Cosy Theatre tonight is headed by the outstanding musical comedy, “You’ll Never Get Rich,” in which the leading roles are taken by Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, John Hubbard and Osa Massen. The two former are seen in some excellent dancing items.
