(By Telegraph—Press Association.! AUCKLAND, December 22. One girl is dead and another is in the Mangonui Hospital at Kaitaia as a result of a accident on the main Awanui road last Friday night’. The girl who was fatally injured was: Melva Ridings, aged 16, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. J. Ridings, of Te Rore. The injured girl was Jean Brydon, of .Digger’s Valley. They were cycling to attend a dance at Awanui and were struck by a military truck. /
