Maureen Truscott, aged 24 years, whose parents reside at 78 Herbert Street, Masterton, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital yesterday afternoon. She spilled hot water over her legs in a local tea room. Her condition is satisfactory. Bodies Recovered. The bodies of A. D. Jackson and P. Tozer, of Timaru, who were lost on a mountaineering trip in the Cass Valley in September, were recovered by searchers on Monday afternoon. Mi' Jackson was a master at the Timaru Boys’ High School, and Mr Tozer a student of Canterbury College. Social Security Benefits. ‘I look with anticipatory pleasure to the time when peace comes, and we will see an international agreement between Allied nations for the payment of social security benefits,” remarked e Minister in charge, Mr Parry, in addressing the staff of the Social Security Department yesterday. Tribal Committees. A meeting was held recently at Te Ore Ore of delegates representing the tribal committees throughout the Wairarapa for the purpose of electing an executive committee, Mr I. Mariihera (Papawai) presiding. The following officers were elected:—Messrs Potangaroa (Te Ore Ore), P. Paku (Homewood), Te Ao Hemi (Papawai) and J. Carter (Pirinoa), Mrs K. Te Tau (secretary and treasurer). Mr Hemi and Mrs Te Tau were elected trustees in connection with the bank account. Rehabilitation Scheme. A comprehensive educational and training scheme for returned soldiers in professions and trades is planned all except a few details, said the chairman of the Rehabilitaton Board, Mr M. Moohan, yesterday. Medical and dental training for returned men referred to by the Minister of Health, Mr Nordmeyer, when announcing the new bursary system, was only a small part of the total scheme for rehabilitation which would be announced early in the New Year.
