END OF'TERM DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) g The Grey town District High School held its end of term party in the Odd Fellows’ Hall, which was filled with scholars, parents and friends. The time was spent in dancing, interspers- I ed with competitions and items. Songs I were sung by 3rd and 4th form girls. Lorraine bugrue entertained with a tap dance., | Competitions were won by Miss Ox- a ford, Master Bruce Garrity, Miss Ray 5 Humphries and Master Peter Brabender. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Mary Carter and Master J. Rewi. A pianoforte duet was played by Mary - and Zita McNamara. _ I The supper arrangements were in | the capable hands of the pupils. Mr H. G. Carter, chairman of the School Committee, wished the children a happy Christmas. He urged those who were leaving school to always uphold the honour of their school. Mr Shedden, headmaster, also thanked the pupils for so capably carrying out their duties during the evening, and also wished them a happy time at Christmas. Annie Connolly, on behalf of the pupils, presented Mr Shedden with a leather writing compendium. Gwen Reid presented Mrs H. G. Carter, who supplied the music, with a posy. Extras were played by Kathie Bouzaid, Linda Ingley and Mary Carter.
WEDDING FLYNN—BOUZAID. A wedding of local interest was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Greytown, when Verna Bertha, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Bouzaid, Greytown, was married to Robert Touhy Flynn, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Robert Flynn, of Martinborough. The bride wore a gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines, with an embroidered veil held in place with a sprig of flowers. She carried a cascade bouquet of Christmas lilies, miniature arum lilies, white carnations and maidenhair fern. In attendance to the bride were , Misses Stella, Eunice and Daphne Bouzaid (sisters) and Miss K. Flynn (sister of the bridegroom). They were attired in frocks of French Marquisette in soft pastel shades of mauve, green, pink and blue respectively. They carried cascade bouquets to tone. • Mr T. Geary was best man and Mr Esryn Flynn groomsman. During the signing of the register, \Miss Catherine Bouzaid sang ‘Ave Maria.” * ■ After the ceremony a reception was held in the Crown Theatre where the guests were received by Mrs Bouzaid who was attird in a floral frock and black coat, with black accessories. She was assisted by Mrs R. Flynn, Who wore a floral frock with navy blue accessories Later, Mr and Mrs Flynn left for the north, the bride wearing a tailored blue costume and fur stole, a gift from the bridegroom. Their future home will be in Wellington,
