TO BE INVESTIGATED BY TRUST BUILDING COMMITTEE. HIGH COST OF CHIMNEY REPAIRS. At last evening’s meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust a sheaf of earthquake accounts which revealed wide variations in costs were received and it was decided to refer them back to the Building Committee for investigation. The chairman, Mr H. P. Hugo, said that the accounts should be closely looked into. Mr A. W McKenzie (secretary): “In future we are letting the chimneys, with the houses free.” Mr J. Macfarlane Laing said the cost of the chimney repairs in certain cases came to more than the houses wore worth. Mr R. Page agreed with the chairman that the accounts required looking into.
