LADIES’ AUXILIARY
MASTERTON Y.M.C.A, WORKERS. BUSINESS AT YESTERDAY'S MEETING. ■ The monthly meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. was held in the Masterton Y.M.C.A. rooms yesterday. Mrs H. E. Pither presided over a large attendance of members. Apologies were received from Mesdames Bull, Corskie, Dagg, Blake, Prescott, Diamond, McKay, Rayner, Aikman and McKenzie. The treasurer's report showed a healthy bank balance. Accounts for £2 2s were passed. Reports were given on various canteens. A renort on the dances and the hostess evenings showed that they were very successful. It was agreed that the hostess evenings should be held on Wednesday night in the meantime, the Monday and Wednesday girls to attend on December 16 and the Tuesday and Thursday girls on December 23. Thd Sunday night teas had been discontinued until further notice. New Year greetings are to be sent to sons in the forces whose mothers are members of the Ladies' Auxiliary. Christmas cakes are being forwarded from the auxiliary to the guards at a prison camp. Mrs Pither is representing the Ladies’ Auxiliary on the W.W.S.A. Mr E. M. Hodder on behalf of the board of directors, expressed thanks to the Ladies' Auxiliary for its work during the past year. Mr Wright, field secretary, also expressed thanks on behalf of the National Council and himself. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Welsh and Duckworth.
