ST. CUTHBERT’S CHURCH AN IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY. ("Times-Age” Special.) An impressive service was held m St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church on Sunday evening last, when three new lay readers received their licences. They were Messrs L. Houlbrooke, L. Christie and V. M. Anderson. The vicar, the Rev. T. C. W .Mutter conducted the admission service, and tne Rev. W. F. Stent, of Carterton, gave a very interesting address. Appropriate hymns were sung. Church Shop Day. Yesterday the Anglican Ladies’ Guile, held a very successful shop day, when all the produce, plain and fancy goods were disposed of.
Personal Items. Mrs E. Goss, of Levin, and a former resident of Eketahuna, is seriously ill in the Palmerston North Hospital. The Rev. T. C. W. Mutter is. visiting Featherston, owing to the serious illness of his mother. Mrs W. Olsen, Newman Road, is visiting Wellington. Mrs Reid and Miss Reid, Gisborne, are the guests of Mrs P. G. Tredray, “Ramleh,” Pleckville. Mr J. Bray has returned home after having been on a visit to Wellington.
