WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT OPAKI. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of the Opaki Women s Institute held their monthly meeting at Oaklea, the home of Mrs Harns, Mrs Beetham presiding. . Mrs Mannell had on view a great variety of articles made from hat felt, tastefully fashioned and decorated. The competitions resulted as follows:—Scones, Mrs Harris 1. Mrs Wyeth 2- Victorian posy, Mrs Wingate 1, Mrs Mannell 2, Mrs Wyeth 3. The president extended season s greetings to members and announced that the Institute would be in recess in January and would resume activities in February with a social gathering to celebrate the institutes eighth birthday. The February meeting will be held at Mrs Beetham’s home.
