MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS,
(“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute was held in the local hall yesterday afternoon, when Mrs W. J. Cottle presided over a fair attendance of members. It was decided to hold a committee meeting on January 21, at the residence of Mrs F. Hewitt, and a general meeting in February. The competition in February will be for a collection of four vegetables. Afternoon tea was served by tne hostesses, Mrs Jarrett and Miss Doreen. A bring-and-buy stall, containing Christmas novelties and toys, was well patronised, and resulted in a substantial sum being added to the soldiers’ parcels fund. Mrs Jarrett and Miss M. Cottle gave an interesting demonstration on the making of bread flowers, and were accorded a hearty vote of thanks, on the motion of the president, Mrs Cottle, who also wished members the compliments of the season.
The competitions resulted as follows: —Christmas novelties, Mrs Jarrett 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs Wright 3. Best bloom, Miss M. Cottle 1, Miss Doreen 2, Mrs Jarrett 3.
