DOUBLE DROWNING

TRAGEDY NEAR HAWERA. MAN AND WOMAN LOSE LIVES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 23. A double surf fatality occurred at the Waihi Beach near Hawera yesterday when a party of six young persons got into trouble in the surf. The victims were:— Mary Noleen Frampton, daughter of Mr C. E. Frampton, of Hawera. Bernie Wallace, grocer’s assistant of Hawera. The latter’s body has not yet been recovered. The other members of the party suffered shock. The surf wascalm with a sharp undertow, and ali were in difficulties simultaneously.
