RAILCAR DERAILED
NEAR PIGEON BUSH LAST NIGHT. COLLISION WITH COW. The rail-car which left Masterton at 7.5 o’clock last night was derailed at Pigeon Bush when it ran into a cow. None of the passengers were hurt and the rail-car was not damaged, although it left the rails. The 7.40 south-bound rail-car went down empty and brought back passengers from the north-bound rail-car which should have arrived at Masterton at 9.20. The rail-car returned at 11.45 o’clock. Passengers on the rail-car which left Wellington for Masterton about 9 p.m. were transhipped by bus from Pigeon Bush and arrived in Masterton about 2 o’clock this morning instead of 11.30 o’clock last night. The rail-car was restored to the rails early this morning, and services resumed normal running.
