SOUTH FEATHERSTON

EUCHRE AND DANCE WAR SERVICE COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fortnightly euchre party and dance held by the War Service Committee was well attended. Mr T. Udy’s band provided the music and extras were played by Mrs F. Burt and Mr Hemi. Mr H. Graham capably carried out the duties of M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss Guthrie and partner and Miss M. Davis and partner. Mr C. Rasmussen and partner won the lucky spot CIcIMCC The’ euchre tournament resulted:— Ladies: Mrs Baker, 1; Mrs R. Jepsen, 2. Men: Mr R. Tocker, 1; Mr R. Jepsen, 2. , The dairy factory staff held a euchre party and dance in the South Featherston Hall on Wednesday night, the gathering being a decided success/ The takings which amounted to £37, were donated to the War Service Committee and are to be spent on local soldiers who are serving overseas. Mr T. Udy s band provided the music. Much appreciated extras were played by Misses M. and N. Tocker and a soldier. Mr Milton Taylor was M.C. The lucky spot dances were won by Miss Olive Sorensen and partner and Miss Margaret Foss and Mr Waterson, of Carterton. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr R. Cook and Miss N. Wilton. „ , The euchre prizes were won as fol-lows-—Ladies: Miss Chisholm, 1; Miss Gregor, 2. Men: Mr R. Fuge, 1; Mr J. Thompson, 2. The consolation prizes went to Mrs Blandford and Mr N. Fairbrother. A competition for a ham was won by Ashley Lepper.

Bert Baillie and Mrs Baillie were recent visitors to South Featherston. .
