WOMEN’S DIVISION SOCIAL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) Under the auspices of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, a very enjoyable social gathering, at which the next-of-kin of soldiers overseas were the guests, was held in the Anglican Hall yesterday afternoon. Gifts from soldiers overseas, which were much admired, were on exhibition on a table in the middle of the hall. A stall with goods made by disabled soldiers did good business. A competition for a beautiful polished wood fruit bowl was won by Mrs G. Murray Aynsley, and an inlaid wooden tobacco jar was won by Mrs M. Stonewigg. Mrs Herbert was first and Mrs Dick (Kaiparoro) second in a word competition. Musical items, which were much appreciated, were given by Mrs Oldham, Miss Betty Curry and Sergeant Max Smith. All were encored. Miss Agnes Schultz gave several recitations. Mrs W. Curry and Miss Muriel Smith were the accompanists. A well-filled hamper of eggs, vegetables, fruit and cakes was sent to the A.N.A. Club, Wellington. Personal Items. Miss J.
