ST. CUTHBERT’S CHURCH GATHERING IN AID OF FUNDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable “gift afternoon” was held in St. Cuthbert’s Hall recently in aid of the church funds. There was a large attendance of ladies, and the hall was tastefully decorated with pink oriental poppies. Mesdames Kensington and Fordyce tied in a musical competition . The orange competition was won by Mrs McAlister, and for the car competition, Mesdames M. R. Herbert and Bowerins’' tied foi' first place. Songs were sung by Mrs P. Bouzaid and Constance McAlister, and a violin solo was played by R. McAlister. The Rev. G. C. Mutter thanked the ladies for the successful gathering which they had organised. Afternoon tea was served by members of the church. Personal Items. Mrs E. Gray, Hawera, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs H. P. Hansen, Alfredton Road, has returned home. Miss Mcßae, Napier, is the guest of her cousin, Mrs A. E. Brittain, Central Road. n , , Mr and Mrs H. E. Rogers, who had been visiting Auckland for the Rogers —Watson wedding, have returned home. .
