KOPUARANGA

SUCCESSFUL GATHERING L/CORPORAL J. CLARKE HONOURED. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a large and representative attendance of settlers of the district at a social gathering in the Kopuaranga Hall last night in honour of LanceCorporal Jeff Clarke. Dancing was enjoyed to music provided by Mr JackWest. Mr C. P. Jarrett was a capable M.C. A tasty supper was served by the ladies of the district. Mr C. C. Jackson, in making the presentation of a solid leather brush and shaving csae, wished L/Corporal Clarke a successful future. Mr Rogers mentioned that five men of the last Clarke generation fought in the Great Wax- ,while nine of this generation were in the Army. Lance-Corporal Clarke suitably returned thanks.
