HOUSES IN BRITAIN

ONE IN FIVE DAMAGED BY BOMBS. ALL BUT SMALL PROPORTION REPAIRED. LONDON, November 13. The Minister of Health, Mr Brown, said today that over 2,750,000 houses in England and Wales had been damaged by bombs, a figure which represented more than one in every five houses in the country. Of that number, 2,500,000 had now been repaired and were occupied, a very fine achievement on the part of the local authorities.
