Clothing coupons in the old coupon rationing books are available until May 31, 1943. National Savings. Members of the St. Matthew’s Church Ladies Guild held a most successful bring and buy afternoon at the Sedgley Home on Saturday afternoon. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance. Barnes’s orchestra, and extras were played by Bandsman Culbar. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss D. Walker and partner. Bro. B. J. Seddon was a particularly capable M.C. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Sisters Brader and Richards. The dance committee extends its thanks to the ladies who assisted at the supper. Dominion Finances. The public accounts for the first six months of the current financial year (to the end of September) showed in general that the finances of the country were in accordance with the expectations and were being maintained on a sound basis, the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) stated in Wellington on Saturday. Consolidated Fund revenue receipts were £15,907,000, compared with £14,735,000 for the corresponding 'period of last year. Expenditure, bn the same basis, was £17,197,000 compared with £15,763,000 last year. In the War Expenses Account expenditure for the first six months of this year rose to £40,882,000, from. £21,157.000 in the first six months of the last financial year.
