GOOSEBERRY SEASON LARGE CONSIGNMENTS RAILED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Gooseberries are being picked daily in Greytown gardens and large consignments have already been railed to Auckland. Complimentary Ball. A complimentary ball was tendered to the residents of Greytown last evening by a military unit.. The music was supplied by Mr Barnes’s orchestra. The commanding officer assisted by all ranks, made every effort to cater for their guests, and the large gathering had a most enjoyable night. 1 The stage was set with card tables and the prize-winners were Mesdames J. Coleman and H. York. TOWN HALL “BLOOD AND SAND.” There will be shown tonight an excellent drama in beautiful technicolour, “Blood and Sand.” Full of thrills it provides Tyrone Power with a splendid opportunity to display his talents. He is ably supported by Linda Darnell and Rita Hayworth.
