SERVICE CLUB SUCCESSFUL EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” V Special.) There was a good attendance at the euchre party held at the Service Club when an enjoyable time was spent. Miss Ruane and a soldier were. the prize-winners. The mystery envelope was won by Mrs McKenna. Armistice Day. In connection with Armistice Day a service was held in St. John’s Church and a wreath was placed on the War Memorial by the Women’s National Reserve. Calf Judging Competition. There was a good attendance of settlers at the meeting held in the Kahutara School when it was decided to hold the gala and calf judging on November 28. CROQUET In an A grade Buttons match played at Haunui, Misses Esma Card and M. Nix (Haunui) defeated Mrs Polson and Mrs Finlayson (Masterton), 26/17. Personal. Mrs H. Lawson returned today from a visit to Wellington.. Mr Lawson, who is an inmate of Lewisham Hospital, is reported to be, making good progress towards recovery. COSY THEATRE BIG DOUBLE BILL. There will be a big double bill at the Cosy Theatre tonight. The chief feature will be “Broadway Limited” an outstanding comedy, featuring Victor McLaglen in probably his best performance. Wallace Beery has a most spectacular and picturesque role in “The Bad Man,” a story of thrilling adventures. Others in the cast are Laraine Day, Ronald Reagan, Henry Travers, Chis-Pin Martin, Chill Wills, Nydia Westman and Charles Stevens.
