COLLEGE MATCHES. WAIRARAPA v RONGOTAI. Matches between the first and second elevens of Wairarapa College and Rongotai College were completed at the Wairarapa College grounds yesterday. In the first eleven game, Rongotai won by 9 wickets. Scores: Rongotai, Ist innings, 131 (La Hood 56, Tomline 25, Colquhoun 19; Welch 4 for 32, O’Brien 2 for 5, Hourigan 1 for 9, McGregor 1 for 40); second innings, 1 for 78 (La Hood, not out, 47, Colquhoun not out 27; Welch 1 for 34). Wairarapa College, first innings 54 (Welch 26; Woolley 4 for 11, Tomline 3 for 15, La Hood 2 for 3, Robinson 1 for 24). Second innings, 154 (Liver not out 109, McGregor 21; Woolley 5 for 37, Robinson 3 for 41, La Hood 1 for 26, Tomline 1 for 35). The match between the second elevens was won by Wairarapa by 16 runs.
