<> SERVICE OF PRAYER MUCH APPRECIATED BY PUBLIC. (“Times-Age” Special.) The spiritual needs of the people of Featherston and the surrounding district are provided by particularly able ministers of religion —men of deep convictions vzho carry out their duties in a most conscientious.manner. Featherston has always been noted for the high standard of ability displayed by the ministers of the town, but probably never more so than today. Keenly alive to their responsibilities to the community they control and carry out many religious and patriotic activities in a most commendable manner. Particularly noticeable is the citizens’ war time service, which is making an increasing appeal to local residents because of its patriotic, bright and fervent character, for which those responsible deserve the greatest credit. The simplicity and earnestness of the services are most marked, and consequently they are much appreciated by those who attend. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT MUCH ENJOYED GATHERING. The euchre tournament held in the Red Cross Society's room on Monday afternoon was well attended and much enjoyed. The winners were Mesdames Mellish and Lowe. , Donations were received from Mesdames N. Matthews, Wakely and O’Neale. A competition was won by Mrs Bloxam. Postmaster Transferred. Mr W. A. Trask, who has been postmaster at Featherston for the past eleven months, has been transferred to Ngarauwahia. Prior to his departure he was made a presentation by the Post Office staff. Mr J. W. Holland is carrying out the duties of postmaster. Personal Items. Mrs Sinclair, Tauranga, is visiting her mother. Mrs Mcrlet. Mr and Mrs Bond, Mr and Mrs Henderson, Mrs Norman, Mr and . Mrs Moore, Wellington, and Miss Hamilton, Lower Hutt, are the guests of Mrs L. McKenna. Pahautea. Mesdamos White and Morse, Levin, are visiting Mrs Sullivan, Kahutara. COSY THEATRE “THE BUGLE SOUNDS.” The programme at the Cosy Theatre tonight will be headed by “The Bugle Sounds.” a spectacular drama of tank regiments .spectacularly filmed in cooperation with the United States Army. The chief roles are taken by Wallace Beery, Marjorie Main, Lewis Stone and George Bancroft.
