George Muir, New Zealand, 13st lib, outpointed Jim Wilde, Wales, 15st 81b, in an eight-round preliminary. Muir scored frequently with a massive right swing to Wilde’s face. Muir’s victory was most popular. The crowd booed the Boon-Kilrain decision.
