RETIRING FROM PUBLIC LIFE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) TORONTO, October 21. Mr Mitchell Hepburn, outspoken critic of the Mackenzie King Government and the Canadian war effort, has resigned as the head of the Ontario Liberal Government. The AttorneyGeneral, Mr Gordon Conant, was immediately sworn in as Premier. Mr Hepburn said he was retaining his portfolio as provincial treasurer for a short time, after which he was retiring from public life..
