ANZAC CLUB
FILLING USEFUL PURPOSE
POPULAR WITH SERVICEMEN.
FACILITIES APPRECIATED. Six. months have now passed since the Anzac Club began its work. At its last meeting the committee reviewed the activities of that period. The report revealed that throughout the whole period the club room in Essex Street had been most popular with all branches of the services. Large numbers of men were present each evening. The men have expressed themselves as delighted with the facilities the club offers, and are grateful to the committee, the girls, and to the organisations which provide the very generous suppers. Plainly the club is fulfilling a most useful purpose, and one which is appreciated and used. Service of this kind could not be maintained without many helpers, and the members of the committee express their thanks to all who have contributed to its continued success. They thank the Soldiers’ Club for the use of the rooms, the girls who come regularly to assist in entertaining the men, and the following organisations which, from time to time, have made themselves responsible for the suppers:—Ranfurly Club. Women’s Division Farmers’ Union, Navy League, Air Force Relations, St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Townswomen’s Guild, Women's Institute, Welfare League, Methodist Church, Patriotic Committee, Knick Knack Club, Presbyterian Guild and Lady Galway Guild.
