DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh north-westerly winds becoming strong in exposed positions. Some scattered rain in Tararuas. Weather otherwise fair to cloudy and mild.
FURTHER OUTLOOK: Unsettled with a cold southerly change likely. LOCAL REPORT. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today:— Shade temperature: Maximum 70.1, minimum 44.9, terrestrial 35.1. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. Full moon, October 24. Draw blinds at 7.15 p.m. today; raise them at 4.51 a.m. tomorrow.
