NAZIS CONVICTED
IN AMERICAN FEDERAL COURT
LIABLE TO HEAVY PENALTIES. FOR COUNSELLING EVASION OF MILITARY SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—copyright) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 20. Twety-four leaders of the GermanAmerican Bund, including the “National Fuehrer,” Gerhard Kunze, were convicted,in the Federal Court, after a month’s trial, on a charge of counselling members to evade military service. One leader was acquitted. The conviction carries a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment and a 10,000 dollar fine.
