CATTLE FAIR
LATE RATES MAINTAINED. HEAVY YARDING SUBMITTED. A heavy yarding of about 3,000 head of cattle was submitted at the second Masterton Cattle Fair today, when prices about equal to those at the last fair were the rule. There was not such a large attendance of outside buyers but local purchasers operated freely and competition was quite keen. A big proportion . of the cattle showed plenty of quality, some exceptionally good Hereford and Polled Angus steers being forward. All the grown bullocks were bought
b” local graziers. Top price for steers was £l2 1s for a good line of Herefords sold on account of Morland Sta-
tion. Two-year-olds ranged from £7 10s to £9 5s according to quality. Beef cattle prices also were on a line with those at the last fair, best heavy heifers making up to £l2.
