FEATHERSTON
EXCELLENT SERVICE
IN INTERESTS OF RATEPAYERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The recent anniversary celebrations in connection with the Featherston Borough Council and the long period of outstanding service given by the Mayor, Mr J. W. Card, recalls the fact that the Council has kept itself up-to-date in regard to its civic activities. The Mayor and Councillors have always taken a keen pride in the borough, and have consistently endeavoured to improve the surroundings of the town, and that they have succeeded in this connection is evident by its spick and span appearance. Judiciously the ratepayers’ money has been expended, and while there has been no cheese-paring where necessary work was concerned, there has been no wasteful expenditure of the taxpayers’ money. The council is particularly fortunate in having such a capable town clerk as Mr H. Rolls, who has given excellent service in the interests of the borough, and who has made his department one of efficiency down to the smallest detail.
It is-no wondemthat with such a combination as thWßrcsent Mayor (Mr J. W. Card), the CoTOtillors and Mr Rolls, the Featherston Borough Council is as nearly a model civic institution as it is humanly possible to make it. RED CROSS SOCIETY ENJOYABLE EUCHRE PARTY.
