RESULTS OF GAMES PLAYED.
("Times-Age” Special.) The Carterton Bowling Club opened the season officially on Saturday, the weather being fine and there being a large attendance. The president, Mr F._ L. Barr, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors and mentioned that members felt justified in carrying on the game of bowls so long as it did not interfere with their war efforts. He expressed appreciation to all who had assisted the club, especially the green committee and greenkeepers and the ladies who had helped the refreshment committee.
The trophies won during last season were presented, after which Mr Geo. Hayne, president of the Wairarapa Bowling Centre, extended his best wishes to the Carterton Club and offered his heartiest congratulations to Mr W. Sorensen, of the Carterton Club, upon his meritorious performance in winning so many trophies during the past, season.

MASTERTON CLUB ENJOYABLE GAMES ON SATURDAY. (Notes by “The Bowler.”) On Saturday last, the Carterton and Featherston Bowling Club opened the season. The Masterton Club was represented on Saturday by two rinks, while one rink visited Featherston. On the Masterton Club's greens, there was a large attendance of bowlers, and many, enjoyable and interesting games were played. I was pleased to see such a large number o: new 1 members taking part. On Monday next (Labour Day), the Masterton Club will hold a tournament commencing at 9 a.m. Each team will comprise 3 players, and these will be selected by the club. Entries will close on Thursday. A cordial welcome is extended to all bowlers to take part in the tourney. For many years past, this tourney has been a most popular one, and judging .from, the large number of entries already made the tourney will again be most successful. For the benefit of the new members of the Masterton Club, I desire to point out that on Saturday afternoons their names must be placed in the box not later than 1.15 o’clock. Should a player be unable to arrive on the green punctually he can ring up the clubroom prior to 1.15 p.m. and ask that' his name be placed in the box. ,
