TIN HARE RACING
WAIRARAPA SEASON OPENED YESTERDAY. MEETING AT RUGBY PARK. The tin hare racing season opened in the Wairarapa yesterday, when a meeting was held at Rugby Park by the Wairarapa Coursing Club. There was a large attendance of the public and many keen finishes were seen. The proceedings went off without a hitch. Results of the finals were:—
Rugby Maiden: Lady Robin, Miss J. Hanley, Masterton, 1; Border Maid, S. Kjar, Masterton, 2. Air Force Limit: Spitfire Joe, Miss P. Hanley, Masterton, 1; Flying Ace, E. Allsworth, Masterton, 2. Buick Hurdles: Mac’s Worry, F. Yule, Carterton, 1; Ballaramaine, W. Spring, Masterton, 2. President’s Stake: Old Pal, A. Parks, Masterton, 1; Back Loop Slam, Masterton, 2.
Army Novice Stake: Royal Step, J. Ryan, Masterton, 1; Colleen, M. J. Hanley, 2. Puppy Trial: Lucky Cinders, Miss J. Hanley, Masterton, 1; Good Scout, Miss A. Hanley, Masterton, 2. Plumpton Stake: Gay Crest, S. Gerrand, Masterton, 1; Royal Step, J. Ryan, Masterton, 2.
