HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. RACE RESULTS. The Masterton Homing Club held a race from Parnassus (Nelson), an airline distance of 160 miles, and also a training event from Ohakune, an airline distance of a 110 miles.
The following were the results: — Race from Parnassus: J. Mayes’s Big Chief, 855yds per minute, 1; L. Wickens’s Full o’ Doubt, 854yds per min., 2; J. Mayes’s White Rajah, 851 yds per min., 3; I. Mayes’s Desert Star, 846yds per min., 4; I. Mayes’s Courageous, 841yds per min., 5. From Ohakune: L. Wickens’s Lucky Doubt, 1,291yds per min., 1; J. Mayes’s Blue Girl, 1285yds per min., 2; J. Tilyard’s Black Surprise, 1267yds per min., 3; R. Stewart and Son’s Champion Frill, 1265yds per min., 4; W. Stear’s Red Rufus, 1248yds per min., 5;; A. Pinkney's Old Bill, 1214yds per min., 6.
