ARMY COMMISSIONS
AGE LIMIT GENERALLY IN FORCE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, September 25. The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, interviewed today regarding complaints that married men were ineligible for commissions in the army, confirmed the fact that the army has an age limitation of 30 years for commissions, but said there might be specific cases, where the army required men for some particular work for which they were specially adapted, and in those instances commissions were granted. Concerning a report that Grade 2 men were debarred from military advancement, he said: "I know of no rule debarring Grade 2 men from receiving commissions, though there may be something in routine orders to that effect. I do not see all the routine orders.”
