STATE TENANTS

CONDITIONS OF EXCHANGE OF HOUSES.

APPROVAL OF CORPORATION NECESSARY.

(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Housing Minister, Mr H. T. Armstrong, made it clear, m response to an inquiry today, that it was not m order for State tenants to make moie than tentative arrangements for an exchange of houses without the approval of the State Advances Corporation. He said exchanges would be permitted only between tenants in the same, town, and under no circumstances could an exchange be negotiated between a State tenant and the tenant of a privately-owned property. Each request would be on its merits. Prior approval is an essential condition of exchanges and details must be submitted to the State Advances Corporation.
