ELECTRIC POWER
MEETING OF BOARD. ’
MORE MEMBERS OF STAFF
CALLED UP.
(“Times-Age” Special.)
Mr Campbell Pearce presided over the monthly .meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, held at Carterton yesterday. There were also present: Messrs J. W. Colquhoun, H. P. Hugo, V/. Howard Booth, C. R. Holmes, N. C. C. Shepherd, W. A. Tate and G. W. Hart. An apology for absence was received from Mr F. C. Daniell. The tender of Messrs Knutson and Jamieson was accepted for the erection of a cottage for the operator at the Kourarau works.
An application from the Salvation Army for a reduction in electric charges was refused. It was decided that the Board was not in favour of holding a Power Board Conference this year. It was reported that five more members of the Board's staff had been called up for military duties, which would greatly retard the urgent work that was in hand.
