LEAGUE OF MOTHERS MONTHLY MEETING. x (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs Arch. Clark presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Staples, Wakely, Cundy, Ruane and Wendon. Padre Murray delivered an address on the sanctity of marriage, in the course of which he said that our homes should be an example of trust and loyalty. We should, always be ready to answer the questions of our children truthfully, and to welcome their friends to the home. The atmosphere of the home should be healthy, and we should maintain discipline without too many restrictions. The hostesses were Mesdames Trask, Kelly and Higgs. Personal. Mrs Moriarity left yesterday for Levin, where she will visit her mother, Mrs Hunt. Pte. William Johnson, who is a prisoner of war in the Middle East, is a son of Mr and Mrs Wm. Johnson, of Moore Street, Featherston. Service of Prayer. The citizens war time united service of prayer will be held in the Town Hall on Sunday at 7 p.m. COSY THEATRE “WESTERN UNION.” No more thrilling drama of the old West in America has been brought to the screen than Zane Grey’s famous story, “Western Union,” which will be shown at the Cosy Theatre tonight. It is a story which will appeal for its vividness and its brilliant acting. Robert Young, Randolph Scott, Virginia Gilmore and Slim Summerville have the leading roles.
