SERVICE CLUB ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. (“Times-Age" Special.) There was a good attendance at the euchre party held at the Service Club on Tuesday night, a most enjoyable time being spent. Mrs McKenna and Mr Chisholm were the card winners. A competition was won by Mr Wendon. Personal. Mr W. Crawford, who recently underwent an operation in Masterton, is reported to be making good progress towards recovery. Golf. The lady members of the local Golf Club played two competitions yesterday. In the Challenge Cup, Mrs Lovegrove was first, Mrs Batchelor second, and Mrs Elbe third. Mrs Elbe was the ultimate winner of the cup. A medal round resulted as follows: —Mrs Lowe 1, Mrs Elbe 2, Mrs Donald and Mrs Lovegrove (equal) 3. War Time Service. A citizens’ war time service will be held in the Town Hall on Sunday evening, commencing at 7 o’clock. The speaker will be the Rev. Knowles Smith, who will take for his subject, “A Vision of Tomorrow.” COSY THEATRE “WESTERN UNION.” One of the most outstanding dramas of the Wild West, Zane Grey’s “Western Union,” will be presented tomorrow night. Shown in technicolour, the leading roles in the picture are taken ' by Robert Young, Randolph Scott, Vir- 1 ginia Gilmore and Slim Summerville.
