ELECTRIC POWER

- — MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD. INCREASE IN REVENUE CONTINUES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Reporting to the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board today, the secretary-manager, Mr G. Brown, said the abnormal increase in revenue had continued in August. That increase, and also that for the cost of power, were due mainly to the radiator load brought about by the earthquake. The actual revenue in August was £7403. Six new consumers were connected last month, making the total 6345. The position regarding stocks was fair. The restoration of street lighting in Masterton and Carterton had been completed, and the work was well under way in Greytown, Featherston and Martinborough. The chief engineer, Mr H. B. Keenan, reported on general engineering activities in August.
