CARTERTON
GIFTS PRESENTED
TO MEMBERS OF SERVICES
(“Times-Age” Special.) There was a representative attendance at the Dalefield Dairy Co. building yesterday afternoon when Aircraftman E. Thompson and Pte. _H. Sullivan were .the recipients of gifts from the citizens of Carterton, and parcels of woollen garments from members of the Carterton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The Mayor. Mr D. L. Taverner, and Mrs H. Hodder made the presentations. Mr F. L. Barr, president of the Returned Services’ Association, wished them the best of luck. Personal Items, The Belvedere schoolroom was crowded last evening when a social gathering was tendered to Privates G. Couper and J. Garrett. The time was spent in dancing to music supplied by Mrs Rogers, of Dalefield, extras being played by Mrs W. E. Knowles and Miss B .James. Mr A. E. Reid officiated as M.C. Songs were rendered by Mr W. Routhan. During the evening Mr A. E. Reid made a presentation to the guests. A parcel of woollen goods was handed to each soldier from members of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district.
