CHIMNEY REPAIRS

OVERHEAD CHARGES NOT YET ■DETERMINED. ACCOUNTS NOT YET SENT OUT. No accounts have yet been sent out by the Masterton Borough Council in respect to chimney repairs carried out under the direction of the local authorities. The position, said the Town Clerk, Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith this morning, was that a few first-line chimneys were still being repaired and until this work was completed it would not be possible to determine the overhead charges. Items which had to be taken into account in assessing the overhead charges were: Travelling expenses to and from the home town of the workmen, travelling time, sick pay, insurance, boarding allowance, overtime, tools and equipment, supervision and administration.
