Boy Falls From Tree.

A nine-year-old boy, Thomas Reidy, of Carrington, Carterton, was admitted to the Masterton. Hospital on Saturday, suffering from head and arm injuries, the result of falling about 15 feet from a tree. His condition is now reported to be satisfactory. Dance at Te Whiti. The dance which was held in the Te Whiti Hall on Saturday night was very successful and enjoyable. Mr W. Bradley made an excellent M.C. Mrs Hemi supplied the music and extras were played by Mrs Gundersen, Miss M. Gundersen and Mr D. Love. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss I. McDonald and Mr W. Rutene. A delicious supper was provided by the ladies of the district. P. & T. Dance. The Masonic Hall was crowded to the doors on Saturday night, when a dance was held by the P. and T. Social Club. Barnes’s Orchestra provided the dance music and Mr H. Marsh was M.C. A Lucky Spot competition was won by Miss Bannister and partner. Supper was served by the P. and T. Ladies’ Committee. The general committee wish to thank those who came forward and assisted with the supper arrangements, in view of the exceptionally large attendance.

New Hall Opened. A new hall at Akura was officially opened on Saturday when Mrs Miller Hope’s party by invitation, gave the initial concert, which was followed by a dance. The hall was tastefully decorated with ferns and the erection of the building and the decorations were a credit to those concerned. Supper was provided for all those present at the gathering. In addition to the usual performers, items by Mrs Leadley (elocutionist, who was encored several times) and Private Samson (saxaphone) were greatly appreciated. The music for the dancing was provided by several soldiers and Miss Mollie Iveson,
