ST. ANDREW SOCIETY

DANCE IN MASONIC HALL. The Saint Andrew Society held a most. successful dance in the Masonic Hall last night. There 1 was a large attendance and a, programme of Scots and old time dances was enthusiastically received. A pleasing feature of the function was the readiness of many of the younger people to join in the Scots dances. What they lacked in knowledge they made up in energy, vigour and enthusiasm, many of the boys in uniform being particularly keen in this respect. A cake kindly donated by Mrs P. G. Ramsay was won by Miss Johnston, while a Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Wagg and Mr P. W. Ashley. Mr James Henderson was as usual, a most efficient M.C. Members of the society who were not present missed what was probably the most enjoyable gathering so far held this season. Another good gathering has been arranged for Saturday, August 29, when excellent musical items will be interspersed with the dances.
