SOUTH FEATHERSTON

WEDDING FUGE—REID, ("Times-Age” Special.) A pretty wedding took place recently at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Auckland, when Mavis Gertrude, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Reid, Mission Bay, Auckland, was married to Leonard Robert, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Robert Fuge, Kaiwaiwai, Featherston. The Rev. A; J. Wardlaw officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained white slippersatin frock, inset with lace. The veil was held by a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses ,double white daisies and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Fuge, sister of the bridegroom, was dressed in a pink net frock over taffeta. Het bouquet was of pink carnations and roses. The flower girl, Marilyn Reid, niece of the bride, was attired in an apple green net frock over taffeta . She carried a Victorian posy. Mr Mat. Fuge, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. A reception was held afterwards in the hall adjoining the church. Mr and Mrs Fuge have taken up their residence at Kaiwaiwai. ’ Euchre and Dance. There was an excellent attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall. The music was supplied by Mr T. Udy’s Band, much appreciated extras being played by soldiers. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr and Mrs J. Jepsen Junr., and Mrs Schenkel and partner. Mr and Mrs Rasmussen won the lucky spot dance. The card winners were: Mrs Lowell 1, Mrs Simmonds 2, Mrs Fuge and Mrs Willis (equal) 3. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs J. Jepsen are spending a few days in Wellington. Mrs D. W. Burt has returned home after a holiday spent in Palmerston North. Mrs Holmes, of Petone, is staying with her mother, Mrs Burt, South Featherston. Mr J. Thompson is the guest of Mr Bert Udy, Waikanae.
