WEDDING . ' FALKNER—JASPERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A wedding of much interest to local residents took place recently at St. Cuthbergt’s Church when Noela Evelyn, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. F. Jaspers, Newman, was married to Donald John, second son of Mr and Mrs A. Falkner, Kaiparoro. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was '■ attired in a slim-fitting gown of cream slipper satin which was made with long tight fitting sleeves and a fully-trained skirt inserted with bands of lace. The heart-shaped neckline was trimmed with lace, and a spray of orange blossom was worn. The embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a halo of gardenias. She carried a bouquet of white heather, freesias, roses and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Misses Zeta Jaspers, sister of the bride, and Olive Falkner, sister of the bridegroom, were attired alike in frocks of cyclamen coloured georgette over taffeta, made with long bishop sleeves and full sunray pleated skirts. They wore headdresses of green and cyclamen shaded flowers and short green net veils. They carried bouquets of violets, rosebuds and heather to tcne with the frocks. Mr Russell Falkner was best man, and the groomsman was Driver George Jaspers. A reception was held at (he home of the bride's parents where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Jaspers, the latter wearing a wine shaded ensemble with black accessories. They were assisted by Mr and Mrs A. Falkner. For the occasion Mrs Falkner was dressed in brown and wore a brown coney fur coat. The wedding cake was cut by the bride, and the usual toasts were honoured. After the reception Mr and Mrs Falkner left for the north, the bride wearing a cinnamon coloured frock, brown coney fur coat and matching accessories. Mr and Mrs D. J. Falkner were the recipients of many cheques and useful gifts. Among the many good wishes received was a cable from Pte. Brian Dick, who is serving overseas. The future home of Mr and Mrs Falkner will be in Nuhaka, Hawke’s Bay. Personal Items. Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs W. O. Twentyman, Hukanui, that their son, Wilson, who was serving in the Royal Air Force, has been killed in action. Pte. D. A. Fallaver, a nephew of the Misses Anderson, Alfredton Road, is missing. He is a cousin of Captain J. A. Carroll who was in charge of the advance party which went to Syria. He was in the same unit as his friend, Captain W. Aitken. He was a well-known Bush representative footballer and played against an Australian team when it was defeated at Carterton some years ago. Mr B. Olsen, Wellington, is the guest cf his brother, Mr W. Olsen, Newman Road.
