WAIRARAPA COLLEGE
BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING. The University of New Zealand advised the Wairarapa College Board of Governors at its meeting this week that consideration would be given to the board's suggestion that the annual examinations should be held earlier in the year, so as to release senior pupils for urgent farm work. The executive, it was stated, would meet at the end of this month. A vote of sympathy was passed to the parents of the late TemporaryMajor Erl Chesterman, a former pupil of the Wairarapa High School. Reference was made to his fine scholastic and military career. It was decided to write to Mr A. J. Drew, engineering instructor, congratulating him and his class on their war effort. Acknowledgment of receipt of 50 fire pump water strainers, made by the class, was received on behalf of the Colonial Motor Co., Ltd.
