WOMEN’S DIVISION 1 .— MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) . A meeting of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held in the Anglican Hall yesterday afternoon, Mrs J. McAnulty presiding. A minute's silence was observed in sympathy with Mrs Williams in the loss of her husband, the Rev. G. E. Williams, and Mrs Bauke in the death of her mother, Mrs Goggin. Letters were received from Mesdames Groves (Masterton) and M. D. Crewe (Pahiatua) sympathising with members in connection with the damage suffered during the recent earthquake. Members were asked to save old rubber unfit for further use. Arrangements were made for the annual birthday. A letter of thanks was received from the headquarters for homespun garments sent to Wellington for the use of merchant seamen. Several garments were handed in by Mrs McAnulty.' The. members regretted to hear that Mrs Hobbs was a patient in the Pahiatua Hospital. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames R. Farrow and M. Morriss. Heavy Fail of ,Snow. There was a heavy fall of snow on Wednesday night and the Tararuas are thickly covered. Personal Items. Mrs Jones, Alfredton Road, is visiting Johnsonville. Mrs Simpson Senr., is the guest of her son, Mr H. M. Simpson, RongokoMr' and Mrs A. M. Stonewigg, Tawataia, have returned home after having visited Wellington. Driver F. Herbert is on leave and is visiting his parents. ’ Train Services. The train services will run as usual today.
